  Chapter Three

  Two weeks later

“We are here, Bellamy.” My mother's voice shocked me awake.

Sitting up, I looked out the window and saw the massive campus that was going to be my home for the next four years. It was old and made of stone, but it was gorgeous. Moss and ivy grew up the sides of some of the buildings making it look magical.

“You can just let me out here,” I said, not wanting my mom to come in and embarrass me. That was the one thing that she excelled at.

“Fine, but don’t forget just because you live at this fancy place now that you still have to go to the club on your work days.” She stated as if that was something that I would ever forget.

“Don’t worry, Mother. That is one thing that I will not forget.” I spat at her before getting out of the car and retrieving my meager belongings out of the trunk.

I didn’t even look back as I made my way to the front building following the signs that had been posted about new students. There were so many people out and about that I had to zigzag the whole way. Groups of people milled about looking cliquish as I walked by. I would just keep to myself as I did in high school. I wasn’t here to make friends; I was here to get my education so I could get the hell away from the mess I had found myself in. Thanks to my mom. I couldn’t wait to get as far away from her as I could.

Shaking my head to clear my thoughts, I made my way to the administration desk.

“Name.” The woman with a severe bun and big glasses asked from behind the desk.

“Bellamy Andrews,” I said watching her shuffle through the papers on her desk until she got to my name and handed me a packet.

“Next!” She yelled dismissing me. It was clear that woman took her job seriously.

Walking to the side out of the way, I looked down at my packet and saw that I was in room nine in the Donalds dorm hall. My little map told me that it was the last building on the right. All the dorms were high-tech and had a keycard to get in instead of a key. Putting mine in my pocket I made my way to the dorm.

It was going to take a while to get used to the fact that there were so many people here. The high school that I went to had been on the smaller side, so I don’t think I had ever been around so many people.

Finally making it to the dorm, I noticed there were a lot of guys milling about. The dorms were supposed to be split between girls and guys, so there must have been a lot of women with boyfriends sending them off.

Finding dorm nine, I slide my keycard and make my way in. It was way bigger than I thought it would be. There were four twin beds scattered around the room with four dressers. I was the first of my roommates to get in here so I had my pick of the beds. I chose the one against the far wall, I liked having my back to the wall.

Unpacking my bags and setting up my stuff around the room really didn’t take much time. I didn’t really have much, but it was enough to get me by and really that is all that I needed.

I thought about going out and exploring, but I was much more of a homebody and decided to curl up on my bed. Pulling out one of the books that I brought, I dove into the paranormal world that the author had created.

The sound of the door opening startled me from the book I was reading. Looking up, I watched as three impossibly handsome and ridiculously tall guys walked in.

“What the fuck are you doing here?” The guy in front said as he shook his long blonde hair out of his face. Something about the gesture made his intimidating face more boyish.

“Um, this is my room. Why are y’all here?” I shot back, just because he was handsome didn’t mean I would let him be an ass to me.

“No, this is our room. Our papers say dorm nine in Donald hall. They must have gotten something mixed up, because we aren’t even supposed to have another roommate, let alone having a girl in our room.” He said moving to the bed furthest from me and sitting his bags down.

“Yeah I would say there was a mix-up because that’s exactly what mine said. I’m not moving though so if you have a problem you can go take it up with the administration.” I stated before looking back down at my book and beginning to read again.

“I will go take care of it, then you will have to get out of our room.” He said with a huff, still not looking up I hear the door slam as he left.

I could feel the other two guys eyes on me, making it impossible for me to get back into my book.

“Might as well introduce yourselves if y’all are going to stare.” I said placing the bookmark back into my book and sitting it on the bedside table.

I must have shocked them with my brazenness because they both just stared at me, giving me a moment to take them in. The one on the left had dark shaggy hair and grey eyes. He was taller than the man on the right, but not as built. You could tell he worked out, but he had more of a swimmer form.

The one on the right was stocky, his muscle shirt and basketball shorts did nothing to hide his physique. I would swear his arms were probably the size of my head, but damn did it look good on him. His curly black hair was unruly and his green eyes promised mischief.

“I’m Bain, and this is Rhett, he doesn’t talk much though. Sorry about Sven, he’s the guy who just left. It was a hell of a drive up here and we are all a little on edge.” Bain, the guy on the left, said jerking his thumb in Rhett's direction. It made me wonder why Rhett didn’t talk much.

“Well, I’m Bellamy, but please call me Amy. Feel free to get your stuff set up, I have a feeling that sir asshole is not going to get his way.” I stated, already knowing that this was going to suck.

  Chapter Four

As predicted, Sven wasn’t able to fix our living arrangements, so we settled into a very uneasy truce. I stayed out of their way and they stayed out of mine. Sneaking out of the dorm in the evenings to go to the club was actually pretty easy seeing as they all had later classes.

It wasn’t until the next weekend that I had any real issues, so far classes were going great. I had to be at the club at Four tonight to get ready, so I was hoping to get in the dorm and get out before the guys knew anything about it.

Getting back to my room, I grabbed my makeup bag and my undergarments and headed to the bathroom to get ready. If the guys classes stayed the same, they wouldn’t be here till well after I was gone.

After showering, I put on a matching set of bra and panties and walked out into the shared dorm room. Normally, I would feel good about getting myself all prettied, but considering the fact that I was going to have to go dance on a pole again later, kinda killed my feel good vibe. I just can’t believe that this is my life now.

Lost in thought, I didn’t notice until it was too late that all the guys were in the room.

“You giving us a show?” Bain said causing me to shriek and attempt to cover myself with my hands. I had a rather large chest so my one hand didn’t do much to cover the girls.

“What are y’all doing here?” I asked making my way over to pull on the sundress that I had set out.

“Our classes are over. We are planning on going out later, wanna go?” Bain asked, before Sven laughed.

“Yeah right, miss stuck up over there ain’t going to go out and do anything with us. She’ll prolly end up with her face in a book.” He laughed out, causing Rhett to let out a barking laugh too. What he said was true though; if it was up to me I would just be staying home, but unfortunately I had no choice in the matter.

“Whatever, say what y’all want, but I have to work. I’ll be back late.” I said not wanting to listen to their jeering. All week long, all I heard about was how I needed to loosen up or how I was stuck up or how I thought I was better than everyone else, just because I refused to go out and do anything with them. It was really starting to get old.

“She prolly works at the library, where all the nerdy girls work. So boring.” Sven let out as I slammed the door and left the dorm. How the hell did I end up getting stuck in the dorm with such asshats.

Walking around the club after my da
nces was the worst part about having to work here. Something about my schoolgirl outfit that I had to wear, made all the creepers want a lap dance. So far tonight, I had already had to give three dances all to men who didn’t want to keep their hands to themselves. At least I got to keep thirty percent of my tips, the rest went back to paying off my mother’s debt.

Lost in thought, I made my rounds on the floor. Trina, the dancer who had thankfully took pity on me and helped teach me how to dance right, was up on stage dressed in nothing but pasties and a thong twirling around the pole. I made sure to remember to swirl my hips as I walked, supposedly it helped get you dances, not that I really wanted anymore after the ones I had already given.

It was a long night, and after giving five more dances I was able to pocket two hundred and thirty dollars. The lyft driver, that I called, let me off at the front of the school and I was now headed back to the room. I was more than ready to shower and get in the bed. Tomorrow night I was going to have to do the same thing and it was seriously exhausting.

Opening the door to our room, I quietly got my clothes and went to shower. There was something about the water running down me that made me feel better. As if the water was washing away all the men’s hands that had touched me earlier. I tried to pretend that this wasn’t my life but on some nights, nights like tonight, that was easier said than done. My tears mingled with the water as I got out and dried myself off. Taking a deep breath to calm down, I dressed and headed back into the room only to find the lights on and all three of the guys sitting up as if they were waiting on me to come back in the room.

“Why are y’all awake? It’s almost three in the morning,” I ask, hoping that me coming in hadn’t woken them up.

“We heard you come in. Where have you been?” Bain shot back at me as if he had any right to know where and what I had been doing.

“I was working. I told y’all earlier, I am exhausted. I’m going to bed, I don’t have time for whatever this is,” I stated before laying down with my back to the wall and closing my eyes. Hoping that it would be the end of the conversation.

Somehow, I got lucky and the lights were shut off. I could hear the tell-tell sounds of them settling into their beds and I finally relaxed. I was going to have to be quieter next time I came home, I didn’t want them to get suspicious.

My last thought before I fell asleep was the fact that I couldn’t help but think they were already asking more questions than they should.

  Chapter Five

Something kicking my bed is what woke me from my sleep, opening my eyes I saw that Rhett was standing beside my bed with both of his arms crossed. The look on his face was borderline scary.

“What time is it?” I asked as I sat up and scrubbed my eyes with the back of my hand in an attempt to wipe the sleep from them.

“It’s eleven. Now do you want to tell me why you were out till three in the morning? We live together and if you are doing something that might get us in trouble we deserve to know,” He said, his voice was crackly and gruff as if he was talking with his throat full of something. It was the only time I had ever heard his voice, but I still didn’t like the line of his questioning.

“I was at work, but I don’t have to explain myself to you. Y’all are not my fathers and what I do in my spare time is not any of y’all’s business,” I stated getting irritated at the fact that they wouldn’t just drop it. This didn’t seem like regular behavior to me and it was pissing me off.

Rhett growled letting me know that my answer didn’t make him happy and before I could tell him to piss off, his lips were on mine. It wasn’t an easy kiss, but hard and demanding. Just as I started to accept the fact that he was kissing me, he was up and to the door.

“You are gonna wish that you had just told us the truth.” With those words, he left the room slamming it behind him. Leaving me more confused than I had been before. Men were weird. Ugh, might as well get up and get ready for the day.

I swirled my hips one last time around the pole as the song ended, the crowd going wild with yelling and catcalls as I went around and picked up all the bills that had been thrown on the stage. Making my way back to the dressing room, I gave the money to Trina for her to give to the manager to be counted. All the dancers had to do that before they went to walk around the floor.

As soon as I walked out to the crowded room, I was bombarded by people wanting lap dances. Lap dance after lap dance was how my night continued until it was finally time to go. As usual, I collected my earnings and called up a lyft to go back to the room.

Opening the door to the dorm room, I was shocked to see that it was empty. The guys must still be out doing god knows what. At least I would be able to shower in peace. Getting my clothes and everything I would need I headed into the bathroom.

I sat the shower for as hot as it would go and climbed in, feeling my anxiety and disgust fall off of me as I washed. Stepping out of the shower, I took a second to look at myself, there was nothing really special about me. My long dark hair fell down my back and my brown eyes were plain. My skin was smooth and my body somewhat toned with curves. I will never understand why men went crazy for me the way they did at the club.

Afterwards, I made my way to the bed and plopped down just as the door opened revealing all three guys looking sexy as hell in their nice clothes.

“Hey guys,” I said attempting to be more personable when it came to them.

“Did you hear something Bain? Sounded like I heard a stuck up slut talk, but I must be hearing things,” Sven said, the venom in his words causing me to recoil.

“Nope, I didn’t hear anything, but some trash that needs to be removed from the room,” Bain replied, successfully pissing me off. What the fuck was wrong with them?

“What the fuck is y’alls problem?” I asked louder than I should have. I didn’t understand why they were acting this way. They had never been nice to me, but this was way too far.

“You! You are our problem! You don’t fucking belong here and we sure as fuck don’t want to be around you. Let’s go guys, we can still take those girls up on their offers to stay with them. At least they are honest about their slut status,” Sven stated before shooting me a look of disgust and leaving out the door. Bain and Rhett following closely behind.

“I warned you,” Was Rhett's only words before shutting the door behind him.

Why were they acting that way? Nothing that I could think of was making any sense.

The next morning came way too early as I jerked awake out a nightmare that I hoped I could forget. The guys were still nowhere to be found, so instead of getting up I laid there trying to get myself to wake up and process what had happened last night. All I could come up with was the fact that I thought maybe they were drunk or something.

Getting out of the bed, I noticed there was a manila folder on the desk. Walking over, I gasped in shock at the fact that there was a photo of me on the stripper pole on the front of it. There was a tab that said Kitty Andrews, that was my stage name and a note that said, I know your secret, Amy.

My only thought as I took this in was; What am I going to do now? They knew my secret and my life was about to get much worse.

  Chapter One

  Jules

There’s a very real chance I’m going to freeze to death in my shitbeater of a car on old Route One.

It’s been an hour and not a single car has driven by.

I cross my arms over the steering wheel and let my head fall forward. Tears burn my eyes and this time, I can’t stop them from falling. I have no idea what to do. The air in the car has gotten so cold now that I can see my breath and the end of my nose feels like an ice cube.
